The “Flow State” is real. I’ve experienced it many times during my creative process: writing, making music, making art, even while doing sports or relaxing in the mountains.
Whatever you do, aim for achieving the flow state. If you can’t, you should find a way. And if you always struggle with achieving a flow state, you may want to examine if this is really what you want to do, what you’re passionate about. Many people confuse what we’re good at with what we want to do; while there are certainly overlaps, they are not the same thing. And you don’t have to be “good” at what you do as long as you love doing it. Being good isn’t really the key. Achieving the flow state is about how you feel about the things you do, and who you are when you’re doing it. When you’re passionate about something and you’ve achieved the flow state, everything just feels natural and effortless (again, it has nothing to do with whether you’re “good” at it by any conventional standards).
